Terminlogy
There are two terms that describe the angle at which a photograph is taken from the aircraft. |
Vertical |
This type of aerial photograph is as though you are looking straight down from the belly of the aircraft. This type of image can be rectified to any datum / projection required. The resulting image consists of an encoded tiff file that has Lat/Long, Eastings/ Northings and X/Y coordinates. It is normally set to a particular
scale. |
Oblique |
This type of aerial photograph is generally taken out the window of the aircraft. Normally we take 4 different views of a requested site. Two from each front corner of the property and two from the back corners of the property. This type of photgraph gives the viewer a more common perspective of the site. This type of photograph is commonly used for more aesthetic purposes. |
